Countdown to February 2026 - Are you ready for D11?

February is just around the corner - don’t wait until January to get ready for the Drupal 11 upgrade.

To help you cross the finish line, there's two essential actions you need to complete now:

  • ensure your theme is up to date, and
  • reduce any technical debt

Our priority has been on building the GovCMS D11 foundations. Currently, we have all the D11 building blocks in place and we're starting to complete the Security Assessment, with an aim to launch the D11 distribution in January 2026. That means the D10-D11 upgrades are rapidly approaching in February to April 2026.

At this year’s online Mega Meetup week we covered in depth key steps and resources you need to stay on track. Catch-up on these through the session recording from the Mega Meetup D11 presentation in our GovTEAMS GovCMS Community ‘Event’ Tab (under 'Files').  If you are not yet a member of GovCMS Community, you can self-register for a GovTEAMS account (if you are a current Australian Public Service employee or contractor). For more information, visit GovTEAMS registration.

Key milestones approaching:

  • December – Commence the Security Assessment
  • December - Drupal Core 10.4.x in End of Life
  • January – Officially launch the D11 distribution
  • February – April – undertake the automated upgrades
  • June 2026 – Important: Drupal 10 is End of Life

Stay-up to date: visit Drupal 11 section of the website for information on timelines and upgrade scheduled, plus if you haven’t already, you can book in a D11 upgrade chat.  Look over our D11 readiness Knowledge Base(Opens in a new tab/window) article (Opens in a new tab/window).

Act today to stay ahead, and don't’ forget we are here to help.  Reach out if you need any assistance along the way.
