GovCMS D9 distro launch

Tuesday 8 June 2021

We’re still celebrating here at GovCMS after the launch of the GovCMS Drupal 9 (D9) distribution on Tuesday, 11 May 2021.

But we haven’t slowed down.

Now that D9 is ready for action, the team is focused on getting your Drupal 8 (D8) websites to D9. With www.govcms.gov.au being the first one to switch over.

Drupal 8

So far 58% of SaaS D8 websites have booked in to one of our migration time slots. If you haven’t booked your D8 SaaS upgrade yet, use the online booking form to book in now.

Thank you and congratulations to those who have already made the switch.

Although D8 will reach end of life on 2 November 2021, we are aiming to have all GovCMS D8 websites upgraded to D9 by 27 August 2021.

For our PaaS customers, we have published a D8 to D9 upgrade recommendations guide in the Knowledge Base. We’ve shared this guide to show what steps we used to update our scaffold. You’ll need to identify what steps, if any, apply to your specific setup.

Drupal 7

If you’re a D7 customer, we hope you’ve started planning your migration to D9. To get in touch to discuss your upgrade path, or to find out more about migrating your website from D7 to D9, visit the D7 to D9 space on our website .

Drupal 7 will reach end of life on 28 November 2022, again we’re aiming to have all GovCMS D7 websites upgraded to D9 by September 2022. Although it may seem a while away, it will be here before we know it.
