How do you eat a mammoth? One bite at a time.
The transition from Drupal 10 to Drupal 11 was a mammoth task, spanning almost two years and working towards a hard deadline. The final three and a half months were particularly intense as the GovCMS community sprinted towards the Drupal security deadline.
And we made it.
This project was not a solo effort. It required strong partnerships across agencies, delivery teams and the wider GovCMS community. From preparing sites and participating in testing, to working through changes, timelines and the inevitable bumps along the way, your engagement was key to delivering a smooth upgrade experience.
Over the course of the project:
- 345 projects were upgraded
- almost 200 different business areas were involved
- more than 120 agencies engaged
The successful completion of the D11 rollout reflects the capability, flexibility and shared commitment of the GovCMS community to improving government digital services for all Australians.
