As we wrap up an incredible year, we want to thank our amazing community for the exceptional work and collaboration that made 2025 such a success. Now it’s time to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the festive season - because let’s face it, you’ve earned that extra slice of pavlova! But don’t get too comfy in those holiday slippers - January kicks off with a bang as we dive headfirst into the exciting world of Drupal 11 (D11) migration. Rest up, because next year is going to be epic!
Here are some highlights to wrap up an amazing year:
- Celebrated 10 years of GovCMS, marking a decade of innovation, collaboration, and community‑driven impact across government.
- Delivered the first ever GovCMS census providing valuable insights into platform use and helping shape future priorities and services.
- Saw our community continue to grow, with a record 374 live sites, 121 organisations signed up, and 23 sites currently in development.
- Successfully completed security assessment including an IRAP for GovCMS cloud and obtained an Authority to Operate October 2027.
- Enhanced security measures through implementation of SBOM.
- Launched the D11 Alpha release, paving the way for migration readiness.
- Wrapped up the Rules as Code (RaC) sandpit program, running 16 sandpits with 13 agencies and learning valuable insights into methodology, technology, and project delivery.
- Progressed Content as an API (CA3) from Discovery to Alpha.
- Brought together over 1,030 participants at our Online Mega Meetup events in November, reflecting the strength and engagement of our GovCMS community.
