D9 September Update

Tuesday 14 September 2021

GovCMS is committed to continuous improvement. That’s why we’re already adding great things to the Drupal 9 (D9) distribution.

The 2.4.0 release on 7 September 2021 included the addition of the Layout Builder Modal and Layout Builder Restrictions modules to the D9 distribution. These modules extend the functionality of the Layout Builder core module, providing users with a better interface, and the ability to control which blocks and layouts appear.

If there is a module you would like added to the GovCMS distribution that would add value and functionality for all users, let us know. You can submit a request for a new Drupal module by following the instructions on our website.

Getting to D9

Drupal 8 (D8) will reach its end-of-life on 2 November 2021. If your GovCMS SaaS or PaaS website is still on D8, make sure you’ve been in touch to let us know your transition plan.

Yvonne and the Service Ops team here at GovCMS have been working closely with customers to make sure their migration to Drupal 9 (D9) is as smooth as possible. If you have any questions or feedback on your transition to D9, please get in touch using the contact us form, or through our GovCMS GovTEAMS community.

We understand many of our D7 customers are already making plans to transition to D9 in late 2021 or early 2022. If that’s you, don’t hesitate to get in touch and have a chat about your plans. For conversations about D7 to D9 migrations, use the form on the moving from D7 to D9 page.
